Greenland 1944

On October 16, 1944, the US Coast Guard cutter USS Eastwind captured the Externsteine, a former Dutch fishing trawler, near Cape Borgen, Greenland. The ship had landed a German weather detachment at Little Koldeway on October 1, which had been captured by crewmen of the Eastwind on October 4.
